Recap: Red Springs Red Devils vs. Dillon Wildcats
The Red Springs Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Dillon 57-53. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Red Springs in their matchups with Dillon: they've now lost four in a row.
Defeat or not, Red Springs got some senior leadership from Kaedon Porter and Makhi Arthur. Porter scored 22 points along with six rebounds, while Arthur. scored 16 points along with four steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Arthur posted two or more blocks. Kohnner Oxendine was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Leading Dillon to victory were Jamarion Fling and Zamaurious Robertson. Fling scored 12 points along with four steals, while Robertson scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta'norre Monroe, who scored seven points.
Red Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Dillon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Red Springs will head out on the road to square off against St. Pauls at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Pauls is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Dillon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Manning at 8:00 p.m. Manning is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58 points per game.
