Basketball Recap: South Winneshiek Comes Up Short

South Winneshiek suffered their closest defeat since January 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Turkey Valley Trojans by a score of 39-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-27 back in January.

This is the second loss in a row for South Winneshiek and nudges their season record down to 8-12. As for Turkey Valley, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Winneshiek will challenge Central at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. South Winneshiek is facing Central at the right time seeing as Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Turkey Valley, they will face off against West Central at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Turkey Valley will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: West Central will have lost six straight heading into Friday's game.
