Monte Vista is a perfect 6-0 against Lincoln since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Monarchs will look to defend their home field against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Monte Vista is looking for their season's first win.

Grossmont hit Monte Vista with a six-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Monarchs lost 14-2 to the Foothillers.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Lincoln and San Ysidro, and Lincoln kept the tradition alive. The Hornets put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 21-13 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Lincoln's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.4 runs over those games. As for Monte Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Everything went Monte Vista's way against Lincoln in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, as Monte Vista made off with a 20-0 win. Will the Monarchs repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
