Volleyball Recap: North Kansas City Takes a Loss

If North Kansas City was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Central on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Park Northmen on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Northmen: they've now lost three in a row.

Nora Ottis paced North Kansas City's offense, picking up four kills. Ottis got some help from Yeinli Rivera and her six assists. Ottis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

North Kansas City's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Oak Park, their win bumped their record up to 10-13-2.

North Kansas City has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against St. Pius X on the 18th. As for Oak Park, they will head out on the road to challenge Park Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Northmen surely won't give up without a fight.
