Zeeland East is 8-2 against Zeeland West since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chix will be playing at home against the Dux at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Zeeland East and four for Zeeland West.

Spring Lake hit Zeeland East with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chix fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 5-4.

Derek Baxter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Zeeland West lost 10-4 to Byron Center on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Dux have lost by exactly six runs.

Zeeland East's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Zeeland West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Zeeland East beat Zeeland West 7-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Chix repeat their success, or do the Dux have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
