Preview: New Brockton Gamecocks vs. Pike County Bulldogs
New Brockton is 1-9 against Pike County since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The New Brockton Gamecocks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pike County Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. New Brockton is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Last Friday, New Brockton didn't have too much trouble with Opp on the road as they won 58-40.
New Brockton found their leader in underclassman Reese Eddins, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Aniya Barkley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Pike County was handed a 34-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Opp on Thursday. Pike County narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Opp 34-31. The win was just what Pike County needed coming off of a 53-19 defeat in their prior matchup.
New Brockton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26 points. As for Pike County, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.
Everything went New Brockton's way against Pike County in their previous meeting last Friday as New Brockton made off with a 47-24 win. With New Brockton ahead 28-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
