Baseball Recap: Olympia Comes Up Short

Olympia fell victim to Lake Howell and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silverhawks. Considering the last time the Titans couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Olympia got a good showing from Brendan Furey, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furey also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Titans are 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Olympia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Grande, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Olympia's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Lake Howell, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-12 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympia will host East River at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Howell, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Oviedo at 6:00 p.m. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Silverhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
