Soccer Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Westlake's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Akins Eagles by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Chaparrals came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th in Texas, while the Eagles are ranked 511th in Texas).

Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Akins, they moved to 4-11 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Westlake and Akins will both be playing Austin the next time they take the pitch. Westlake will head out to face Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Akins will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 28th.
