Basketball Game Preview: Wells Raiders vs. Farragut Admirals

The Wells Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Farragut Admirals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wells will be strutting in after a win while Farragut will be coming in after a defeat.

Farragut will be up against a hot Wells squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Wells blew past Kelvyn Park, posting a 46-19 victory. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Panthers are ranked 544th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ashanti Clark was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten boards. Her evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jevae Brunson was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Farragut played against Butler and lost via forfeit.

Farragut has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.0 points per game. As for Wells, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Wells was dealt a bruising 48-18 loss at the hands of Farragut when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wells was down 28-8.
