Softball Recap: Circleville Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Circleville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Central Crossing Comets.

Kayla Fleck made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing eight innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Fleck was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Claire Davis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee West, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Circleville's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Central Crossing, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Circleville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Crossing, they are taking a road trip to take on Hilliard Bradley at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Comets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
