Football Recap: Daunte Curtis' Menacing Defense Leads Pickerington North over St. Ignatius

It was a proper cat-fight when Pickerington North challenged St. Ignatius on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 20-7 win over the Wildcats.

Among those leading the charge was Grant Williams, who picked up 132 receiving yards and one score. His longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.

Pickerington North's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Daunte Curtis was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played. Pickerington North got some further help from Demetrius Curtis: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The victory got Pickerington North back to even at 1-1. As for St. Ignatius, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickerington North will welcome Pickerington Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Ignatius, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Walsh Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
