Basketball Game Preview: Bradshaw Mountain Bears vs. Prescott Badgers

The Bradshaw Mountain Bears will challenge the Prescott Badgers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Bradshaw Mountain ended up a good deal behind Mingus and lost 51-35. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, Bradshaw Mountain had strong showings from Kalli Smith, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards, and Presley Connolly, who posted ten points and five rebounds. That was a full 45.7% of Bradshaw Mountain's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Bradshaw Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Prescott waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Panthers to the tune of 70-32. The Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Bradshaw Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Prescott, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Bradshaw Mountain might still be hurting after the 54-34 loss they got from Prescott in their previous meeting on January 9th. Can Bradshaw Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
