Basketball Recap: Isaac Clarke Key Part of Team Effort in Vikings Win

Waverly lost to Hastings back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Waverly Vikings walked away with a 52-43 victory over the Hastings Tigers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waverly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Clarke, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Clarke a new career-high in points. Ashton Heffelfinger was another key player, putting up 12 points and five assists.

Waverly's win bumped their record up to 3-17. As for Hastings, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waverly will square off against Lincoln Northwest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hastings, they will take on York on Thursday.
