Basketball Game Preview: Green Valley Gators vs. The Meadows School Mustangs

The Green Valley Gators are taking a road trip to face off against The Meadows School Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, Green Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Desert Oasis, but they still walked away with a 50-46 win.

Green Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deymien Tunis, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Theodore Edquilang, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, The Meadows School entered their tilt with Pahrump Valley on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Trojans, posting a 71-44 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Green Valley pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for The Meadows School, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Green Valley, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-52 loss to The Meadows School in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Green Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
