Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Warriors vs. Covenant Christian Cougars
This season hasn't been kind to the Legacy Christian Academy Warriors, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were beaten by Covenant Christian 64-20 on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.
Leading Covenant Christian to victory were Alani Owens and Keeley Chaddick. Owens scored 22 points along with six assists and six steals, while Chaddick dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 11 assists, and 12 steals. Chaddick continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lucy Hahn, who scored nine points along with three blocks.
Legacy Christian Academy bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Covenant Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy Christian Academy will square off against St. Joseph Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Legacy Christian Academy in Texas (St. Joseph Catholic is ranked 455th, while Legacy Christian Academy is ranked 1345th). As for Covenant Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Chinquapin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
