The TEACH Tech Charter Rams will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the East Valley Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
TEACH Tech Charter is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They took a 32-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sherman Oaks CES on Friday. The Rams were down 32-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, TEACH Tech Charter had strong showings from Trayvion Kendrick, who rushed for 164 yards and a pair of TDs, and Kyler Drake, who gained 115 total yards and a touchdown. Kendrick really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 12 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Christopher Montijo, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Even if they lost, TEACH Tech Charter's defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. It was truly a group effort as Kendrick, Dayvion Kendrick, and Mfoniso Udon picked up two apiece.
Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last contest, East Valley made sure to put some points up on the board against New Designs University Park two weeks ago. The Falcons took their matchup with ease, bagging a 58-22 win over the Cardinals. The Falcons not only won two weeks ago, but they posted their biggest win since October 24, 2024 (when they won 62-0).
Everything came up roses for TEACH Tech Charter against East Valley when the teams last played back in September of 2019, as the team secured a 56-8 victory. In that game, the Rams amassed a halftime lead of 26-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
