Football Game Preview: Warren Central Vikings vs. Lake Cormorant + How To Watch

The Warren Central Vikings will face off against Lake Cormorant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Lake Cormorant likes a good challenge.

Warren Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Center Hill 42-14. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Mustangs are ranked 89th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nash Morgan had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 189 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 56 yards and one TD. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 100.5 rushing yards per game. Xavier Jackson was another key player, rushing for 92 yards and one score on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Warren Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 399 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Warren Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Fabian Davenport refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Micah Moore got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Lake Cormorant entered their tilt with Callaway on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 victory over the Chargers.

Warren Central's record now sits at 9-2. As for Lake Cormorant, their record is now an identical 9-2.
