Volleyball Game Preview: Bloomfield Bees vs. Plainview Pirates

For the first time this season, Bloomfield will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to square off against the Plainview Pirates on Tuesday. Bloomfield will be strutting in after a victory while Plainview will be coming in after a defeat.

Bloomfield is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since August 28th on Thursday. They skirted past Niobrara/Verdigre 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Bees in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Plainview came up short against Elgin/Pope John on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Plainview was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 29-27, 25-15.

Plainview's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Bloomfield, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-5.

Bloomfield couldn't quite get it done against Plainview in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bees avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
