Football Recap: Carroll Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Delphi Community last Friday, Carroll came back down to earth. The Cougars and the Eastern Comets were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Cougars suffered a 28-27 loss. Despite 85 more yards than the Comets, the Cougars couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Carroll's loss came despite strong showings from Aiden Wiles and Cale Peters. Wiles rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown, while Peters rushed for 79 yards and a pair of TDs.

Gibson Eagle was his usual excellent self, throwing for 121 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 35 yards and one score for Eastern. Eagle also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 13 total tackles and defending two passes. Bentley Hullinger made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Carroll's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Eastern, their record now sits at 4-1.
