Basketball Recap: Klein Oak Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Klein Oak faced off against Silsbee on Saturday. The Klein Oak Panthers walked away with a 59-52 victory over the Silsbee Tigers.

Silsbee lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Payton Jones, who went 9 of 17 en route to 22 points. Jones' afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travaris Arline, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Klein Oak's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Silsbee, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Klein Oak will square off against Tomball Memorial at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Silsbee, they will challenge Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Silsbee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.
