Recap: New Hampstead Phoenix vs. St. Andrew's Lions
The New Hampstead Phoenix won the last time they faced the St. Andrew's Lions, and things went their way on Wednesday too. New Hampstead rang in the new year with a 31-22 win over St. Andrew's. The victory made it back-to-back wins for New Hampstead.
Claire Fleming and Coco Carnahan certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Fleming scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Carnahan scored ten points along with five rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her.
New Hampstead's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for St. Andrew's, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing The Habersham School the next time they take the court. New Hampstead will host The Habersham School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while St. Andrew's will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
