Basketball Game Preview: Adna Pirates vs. Toledo Indians

Adna is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Toledo is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Adna Pirates will host the Toledo Indians at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Adna knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Toledo likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Adna didn't have too much trouble with Rainier as they won 67-48. The Pirates have beaten the Mountaineers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mountaineers has come to flipping the script.

Adna found their leader in sophomore Trevin Salme, who went 11-for-16 en route to 30 points. Thanks to that strong game, Salme now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Jackson Knittle, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Toledo hadn't done well against Napavine recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Toledo came out on top against Napavine by a score of 55-42.

Adna's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Toledo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Adna came up short against Toledo in their previous meeting back in January, falling 54-47. Can Adna avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
