Baseball Recap: Watsonville's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Watsonville won the last time they faced Pajaro Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcatz put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 13-2 victory. With that win, the Wildcatz brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Watsonville got a massive performance out of Gabriel Lara, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Lara a new career-high. Rudy Valdez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Watsonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Watsonville, bringing their record up to 4-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Pajaro Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Watsonville will take on Silver Creek at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
