Preview: Copper Canyon Aztecs vs. Browne Bruins
The Copper Canyon Aztecs will head out on the road to face off against the Browne Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Copper Canyon is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Copper Canyon came up short against Verrado and fell 61-51.
Meanwhile, Browne pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-55 bruising from Dobson. Browne has struggled against Dobson recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Adam Chaffin, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 18 rebounds. He scored a full 49.1% of Browne's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raevonta Hill, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 assists.
The losses dropped Copper Canyon to 2-5 and Verrado to 4-5.
Copper Canyon was dealt a bruising 56-26 loss at the hands of Browne when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Copper Canyon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
