Baseball Recap: Pine View Gets the Win

Pine View took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Dixie, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Flyers 3-2 on Tuesday.

Tristen Sylvester spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pine View is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Porter Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Pine View's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Dixie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

Pine View will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Flyers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
