Basketball Recap: Kyleigh Weick Key Part of a Team Effort in Bullsharks Win

There's no place like home for Bonita Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Island Coast Gators by a score of 36-26 on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-29 back in December of 2024.

Bonita Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyleigh Weick led the charge by putting up eight points and nine steals. Maya Taylor was another key player, earning six points in addition to 15 boards and three steals.

Despite the loss, Island Coast still got an impressive performance from Samarrah Desir, who posted 16 points.

Bonita Springs' record now sits at 4-9. As for Island Coast, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Bonita Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-27 loss against Dunbar on the 14th. As for Island Coast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-16 victory against Cypress Lake on the 16th.
