Basketball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors 78-24. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1344th, while the Conquerors are ranked 322nd).

Hamilton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gustavo Villalobos, who posted eight points.

Augustine Youssef was his usual excellent self, going 10 of 14 on his way to 22 points and four steals for Desert Christian Academy. Youssef's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Andrew Hesser was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 17 points and three steals.

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Desert Christian Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.

Hamilton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-24 defeat against Nuview Bridge on the 22nd. Desert Christian Academy has also already played their next contest, a 79-45 victory against San Jacinto Leadership Academy on the 22nd.
