Recap: Yreka Miners vs. Lassen Grizzlies
Two weeks ago, Yreka took a serious blow against Lassen, falling 47-14. Yreka was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.
Jayden Dunbar put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Aiden Mcfall also helped out as he racked up 103 receiving yards.
Lassen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dathen Moore, who rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Deshon Moore, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
Yreka's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for Lassen, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Yreka Miners will challenge the University Prep Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. University Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Yreka likes a good challenge. As for the Lassen Grizzlies, they will head out on the road to face off against the Central Valley Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
