Softball Recap: Seymour Comes Up Short

Seymour extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 7-16 in the process. They lost 21-0 to Gibbs. If Seymour was looking for revenge after losing 16-0 to Gibbs when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Gibbs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games.

For Gibbs' part, Malyiah Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Shelby Williams, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

As of now, neither Seymour nor Gibbs have any future games scheduled.
