Recap: Lake Worth Trojans vs. North Broward Prep Eagles
On Saturday, the Lake Worth Trojans faced the North Broward Prep Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lake Worth walked away with a 68-59 victory over North Broward Prep. The win was just what Lake Worth needed coming off of a 83-58 loss in their prior contest.
Defeat or not, North Broward Prep got some senior leadership from Raul Perez ruiz and Enrico Borio. Perez ruiz scored 26 points along with two steals, while Borio. scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Perez ruiz hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Ryan Baxley was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Lake Worth's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for North Broward Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
Lake Worth will head out on the road to challenge Mater Lakes Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mater Lakes Academy is on a five-game streak of home wins, Lake Worth a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for North Broward Prep, they will face off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Averaging 64.7 so far this season, St. Thomas Aquinas' high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so North Broward Prep better be ready for a challenge.
