Basketball Recap: Scranton Snags 14th Win in Last 15 Games

Scranton's tournament run continued when they took on Lead Hill on Wednesday. The Scranton Rockets walked away with a 49-38 victory over the Lead Hill Tigers. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th in Arkansas, while the Tigers are ranked 262nd in Arkansas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lead Hill's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tesli Johnson, who posted 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Hattie Hughes was another key player, putting up five points and seven boards.

Scranton is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Lead Hill and nudges their season record down to 5-28.

As of now, neither Scranton nor Lead Hill have any future games scheduled.
