Basketball Recap: Ithaca Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ithaca had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 58-52 W against the De Soto Pirates. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-49 back in January.

Ithaca pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for De Soto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Ithaca wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 84-60 loss against Kickapoo on the 11th. As for De Soto, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-35 defeat against North Crawford on the 11th.
