Volleyball Recap: Wapsie Valley Warriors vs. Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars

Wapsie Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17.

Taylor Buhr paced Wapsie Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Buhr got some help from Tessa Brunscheon and her 11 assists. Buhr also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Espyn Decker, each putting up two.

Wapsie Valley's loss dropped their record down to 21-17. As for Sumner-Fredericksburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Wapsie Valley nor Sumner-Fredericksburg have any future games scheduled.
