Volleyball Recap: Central Beats Commerce for Their Seventh Straight Win

Central came tearing into Monday's contest with six straight wins dating back to last season, and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Commerce Red Raiders with a sharp 3-0 win. The Golden Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Raiders, too.

Central walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-15.

Yarielis Cordero paced Central's offense, picking up six kills. Cordero got some help from MyKella Meadows and her nine assists. Mayanah Cabrera and Sitay Abdulahi kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with seven aces apiece.

Central's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Commerce, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Central will head out on the road to challenge Belchertown at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Commerce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chicopee at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
