Basketball Game Preview: San Tan Foothills Sabercats vs. Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles

The San Tan Foothills Sabercats will venture away from home to face off against the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

San Tan Foothills is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since January 3rd on Wednesday. They lost 69-44 to Gilbert Christian. The Sabercats have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Bourgade Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by ALA - Ironwood 66-37. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Warriors are ranked 75th).

San Tan Foothills' loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Bourgade Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Everything came up roses for San Tan Foothills against Bourgade Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 78-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Tan Foothills since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
