Baseball Game Preview: Appoquinimink Jaguars vs. Sussex Central Golden Knights

The Appoquinimink Jaguars will square off against the Sussex Central Golden Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Appoquinimink was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Delcastle Technical on Thursday. The Jaguars blew past the Cougars 16-2. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Sussex Central faced Dover in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Golden Knights never let the Senators get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Golden Knights as they're now sitting on five straight.

Sussex Central's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Appoquinimink, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
