Softball Recap: Cedar Creek's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Cedar Creek came into Tuesday's game having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Richards School for Young Women Leaders with a sharp 17-7 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

E Samarripa was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Cedar Creek got a massive performance out of K Ramirez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Ramirez a new career-high. A Mata was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Cedar Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cedar Creek's win bumped their record up to 2-23. As for Richards School for Young Women Leaders, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
