Jaxson Dart of Corner Canyon named 2020 MaxPreps High School Football Player of the Year

Terrelle Pryor (2007), Derrick Henry (2012), Kyler Murray (2013 and 2014), JT Daniels (2018) and D.J. Uiagalelei (2019) are some of the high school football stars to take home MaxPreps National Player of the Year honors. Jaxson Dart of Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) joins the list after the University of Southern California signee led the Chargers to a 14-0 record, 6A state title and the No. 9 spot in the final MaxPreps Top 25.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior quarterback broke the state record with 67 touchdown passes while his 4,691 passing yards passing are good for second all-time in a single season. Dart added 1,195 yards and 12 scores on the ground. He finished as the nation's leader in passing yards and touchdowns.

In three years at Roy High School and his final season at Corner Canyon, Dart finished fifth in Utah history with 10,691 career passing yards while his 116 touchdown passes are third best.

He entered his senior year with no Power 5 offers but quickly generated an early-season buzz that saw notables like Arizona State, Iowa State, TCU, UCLA, USC and Washington State take notice.
