Jasper was the 51-37 winner over Evansville North when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Jasper Wildcats took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Evansville North Huskies. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Evansville North found their leader in sophomore Azaria Finn, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 25 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Finn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lexi Scott, who posted nine points and three steals.

Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Evansville North, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Jasper Wildcats take on the McLean County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Evansville North, they will head out to square off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Washington will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Evansville North surely won't give up without a fight.
