Basketball Recap: Sonora's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Sonora was the 58-44 winner over Mission Hills when they last played one another back in December of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Sonora Raiders took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mission Hills Grizzlies on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 819th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 328th).

With the defeat, Sonora broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-10. As for Mission Hills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.

Sonora will face off against Cerritos at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Sonora knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Cerritos likes a good challenge. Mission Hills and Mira Mesa will round out the year against one another at at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Mira Mesa will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Mission Hills surely won't give up without a fight.
