Softball Recap: Amity Regional's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Amity Regional strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the West Haven Blue Devils with a sharp 16-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won five games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Amity Regional got a massive performance out of Sydney Delpo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that Delpo has hit this season. Morgan Luddy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Amity Regional was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Amity Regional's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amity Regional will take on Darien at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Haven, they will challenge Law at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
