Trinity has won four straight games at home, while Susquehanna Township has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Shamrocks will welcome the HANNA at 1:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
Trinity is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Harrisburg with a sharp 15-4 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Shamrocks brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Jacob Varner looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Trinity got a massive performance out of Gavin Myers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Myers a new career-high. Dominic Bonini was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Trinity kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harrisburg only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Susquehanna Township made easy work of Milton Hershey on Thursday and carried off a 13-1 victory. The HANNA might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.
Ben Witters made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Witters was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Hertz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Ayden Fallows, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Susquehanna Township has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Trinity, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Trinity hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Susquehanna Township struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Trinity was able to grind out a solid win over Susquehanna Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 12-7. Will the Shamrocks repeat their success, or do the HANNA have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
