Basketball Recap: Sebring Takes a Loss

Sebring was the 53-26 winner over Auburndale when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sebring Blue Streaks fell 37-29 to the Auburndale Bloodhounds on Thursday. The Blue Streaks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Sebring lost, don't look at Molly Jane Zwayer. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Zwayer is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season.

Auburndale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makyla Jones, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Aleecia Pollard, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Sebring's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Auburndale, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.

Sebring wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 0-0 victory against Lake Placid on the 24th. Auburndale has also already played their next game, a 40-27 win against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy on the 27th.
