Volleyball Recap: Beech Grove Comes Up Short

Beech Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils, falling 3-0. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Beech Grove was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-18.

Nathaniel Davis paced Beech Grove's offense, picking up six kills. Davis got some help from Aidyn Collins and his six assists. Finally, Jadon Howard kept Beech Grove's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Beech Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Beech Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Irvington Preparatory Academy on the 4th. Indianapolis Shortridge has also already played their next contest (against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
