Basketball Recap: Little Wound Comes Up Short

Little Wound was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Ridge Thorpes. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thorpes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Little Wound's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Pine Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Little Wound won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lower Brule at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakota Tech at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lakota Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.
