Softball Recap: Olmsted Falls Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

There's no place like home for Olmsted Falls, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Highland Hornets by a score of 7-4 on Tuesday.

MOLLY SHEEHAN was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on BROOKE LARGENT, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was HAILEY KLAMUT, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Olmsted Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Olmsted Falls is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olmsted Falls will head out to face off against Avon Lake at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Shoremen at the right time seeing as the Shoremen are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Highland, they are taking a road trip to square off against Cuyahoga Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
