Football Recap: Hanover Central Wildcats vs. Lowell Red Devils

If Hanover Central was riding high fresh off their 28-0 takedown of Highland last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a hard 35-20 fall against the Lowell Red Devils on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Hanover Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Giglio, who rushed for 92 yards and one TD. Jacob Ferko was another key pass catcher, picking up 91 receiving yards and one score.

Hanover Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ferko and Lukas Valiska.

It was another big night for Brody Kalwinski, who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also caught one TD for Lowell. Zak M Scharnke did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards.

Hanover Central's record is now 1-3. As for Lowell, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.
