Marengo hadn't done well against Huntley recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Red Raiders. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 victory the Red Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Marengo is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Huntley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9.

Marengo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-1 victory against Plano on the 5th. As for Huntley, they have also already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against Prairie Ridge on the 5th.
