Soccer Recap: Brighton Takes a Loss

Brighton lost against Munford back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Cougars who were credited with the win. The Munford Cougars got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Brighton Cardinals' four.

Acalan Davis and Jayden Edwards scored both of Brighton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Brighton dropped their record down to 8-8-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Munford, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4-2.

Brighton didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Wooddale on the 13th. As for Munford, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Kirby on the 13th.
