Baseball Recap: Castle Victorious

Castle lost to Kahuku back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Knights came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Nixon Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Landon Pane'e was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Kody Luttrell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Castle's record now sits at 9-5. As for Kahuku, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Castle will challenge rival Kalaheo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2.7, the Mustangs 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Kahuku is set to face off against their familiar foe Kaimuki at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
